Return to Football - 04/11/20
Following the Welsh Government’s announcement regarding the set of national restrictions that will be in place from 9th November, we are pleased to announce that football activity will resume at Phase 3 from next week.
This will mean that friendly matches can resume for all levels of football from 9th November. The removal of local lockdowns will ensure that no restrictions will be placed on players of any age participating in training or matches, volunteers facilitating football opportunities will also be able to travel to support football activity.
Whilst local lockdowns have been removed, matches should still take place on a local or regional basis either against teams within the same league or within the same local authority.
In light of the announcement regarding the number of people who are able to take part in organised indoor activity, Return to Play protocols will be amended to ensure football complies with the latest government guidelines. These are in line with what has been shared with clubs.
Due to travel restrictions across borders players will not be able to go into England to train or play games and players will not be allowed to come into Wales to train or play games. If any of this information changes you will find an updated story here.

Clubs who have accessed funding under the ‘Prepare’ strand can reapply for the ‘Progress’ funding but on a different project. Clubs who have already completed the FAW Covid-19 Impact survey do not need to repeat this for a ‘Progress’ application.
